About Library

The College Central Library was established in 1963, with the establishment of college. The college library having two story building of 18000+ sqft area on two floors various Sections including Circulation Section, Text Book Section, Reference Section, Bounded Volume Stack Section, Periodicals Section, Reading Room and Internet digital Library, etc. The Central Library of Yeshwant Mahavidyalaya is a proud resource which manages knowledge, both in print and digital format. The Central Library ensures easy and anytime access to the scholarly resources and provides faculty members and students with all the support to collect, evaluate and manage information pertaining all the streams of Art’s, Science & Commerce run by Yeshwant Mahavidyalaya, Nanded.
It provides pleasant ambiance for both collaborative work and study. It offers a range of services such as Membership, Circulation, Reading Room and OPAC facility etc. The library collection consists of: Text Books, Reference books, Print Journals, Electronic Journals, Back Volumes of journals, Thesis and Dissertations, CD and DVD. As a true information resource centre, the Central Library has 55854 titles with 106263 Volumes, 788 Non-Book materials, 61 National & International print Journals, 42 Periodicals, 16 News papers with 4657 Bounded volumes and online subscription of NSC’s e-Shodh Sindhu consortium operated N-LIST digital online e-resources program for various disciplines. Under this N-LIST Program users can access 4 databases, 22 resources, 6150 electronic journals and 3139309 e-books available through annual subscription.
The books are arranged in the shelves from 000.00 to 999.99 as per Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) from top to bottom towards right. Library is providing links to various open source journals. All these e-resources can be accessed through IP addresses by clicking the link e-resources on the web site. The authorized users can directly access the e-resources freely with in campus & off campus. Advanced OPAC can be accessed from anywhere by clicking the OPAC link given on the library software.
The Central Library is a part of the institute-wide network built around a fiber optic backbone comprising of High speed switches. Institutes backbone in turn is connected to 40 Mbps of Internet leased line from BSNL.
The Digital Library section has 10 latest PCs to access the online journals, e-Resources and video lectures. 02 PCS are meant for users to access OPAC/WebOPAC, databases, e-books, e-journals and other e-resources. The reading section in the library is WI-Fi enabled to provide wireless access to the Internet. The library provides free of charge internet facility to all its users for searching and browsing e- books, e- journals and Video lectures etc. from all other resources.
The Library is fully automated with ‘SOUL: 3.0’ software package which is an integrated multi-user library management system that supports all housekeeping operations of the Library. The software consists of modules on acquisition, cataloguing, circulation, serial control, utilities and OPAC. The database of books available in the Library is being updated on day to day basis with details of recently circulated and purchased books. Records of all the Library patrons have also been created in the software. The library like all vibrant and productive organizations, strives to keep pace with a global, dynamic, and technology-enabled information environment to meet the expectations of its users.

IR @ YMN Library

The Institutional Repository (IR) @ YMN Library has been set-up to host full-text hard copies of research publications of college staff/researcher as well as other academic publications of the institutions from the establishment to uptill date. An open source digital/e-Resources library developed by on server. The IR @ YMN Library provides a platform for researcher in the all Decipline, faculty and subject to deposit, reuse and share their research publications. The Institutional Repository (IR) also has the ability to capture, index, store, disseminate and preserve digital materials created in the YMN Library. Staff members can register themselves with the digital repository and submit their pre-prints (pre-refereed version of an article), post-prints (post-refereed final version) and publisher PDFs (if allowed by the publisher). The papers publish in various international/National publishers and proceedings have been stored in to the IR @ YMN Library in PDF format. The Institutional Repository also includes Course Materials, Newspaper Clippings, Exam Question papers, etc.

E-Journals Archival Library (Print Version)

Besides receiving access to e-resources on complementary basis under the Shodh-Sindhu Digital Library Consortium (N-LIST), the Centre maintains a separate Archival Library consisting of print journals received as a part of the regular subscription of library with the participating publishers of the Shodh-Sindhu Digital Library Consortium (N-LIST). Under the library subscription, the publishers are sent a copy of all the issues of the journals. This archival library is open to all users interested in using these print resources for their study / research. The Centre has received issues of 86 journal titles from different publishers. The library is having back volumes of various subscribed journals from the Academic year 1963 to uptill date. During this year under review, issues of 47 journals each were received from the International, National and Regioanal Publishers. Users can access information about these journals on their desktops at the website.

e-Resources/Non-Book Material-Collection and Search Services

The YMN Library subscribes to a large number of e-Resources/Non-Book Material consisting of text and references details of academic study material mainly in the area of Science, Social Sciences, Art's and Humanities. Services from these databases are available free-of-cost to the academic community including research scholars and the students for their research and academic activities. These CD ROM databases have been continued since 2000 given the fact that e-resources are now being made available to college under the purview of institutional repository.
